Sports Highlights Week 18 2025

U12C vs Davenies

On Wednesday afternoon, the U12Cs had their second game of a rather disrupted season so far. This was only our second visit up to Willsfield and thankfully it went a little better than the first… (a one-sided game against Caldicott that didn’t make it into the newsletter)

The boys did learn a lot from that initial game and took it into this week’s match against Davenies. Our passing was quicker, and we looked to move the ball into space, which created more chances for us and by half time, we had taken three of these chances, with goals from Archie T x 2 and Vega H – who was a welcome addition to the squad this week.

More goals were scored in the second half (Baqir M, Theo K, two more for Vega and an unfortunate og) and we finished winning 8-0 but a special mention needs to go to the defensive efforts of Nisaja D and our captain Theo K, who were a calming influence on the ball throughout. Well done to Oleg in goal for staying switched on and keeping a clean sheet too.

Buddy T played a very good game in midfield, but our player of the day went to Vega for getting his hat trick and putting in an impressive performance.

Well done, boys!

U8 B2s & C1s vs Davenies

The scene was set for a busy afternoon of football up on Willsfield, with all the boys from Year 3 primed and ready for their first home football match of the term.

U8C1s (Lost 0-2)

The boys started well, holding their shape and passing accurately allowing them to build into some nice attacking football. Despite the early promise of a Beacon goal, Davenies took the lead with an excellent bit of individual skill from their winger. The Beacon worked hard to deter a barrage of Davenies attacks late in the game, with some great defending from Dexter B and Oliver H, but were unable to stop a late goal to put Davenies 2-0 up with moments to go. A great effort from the C1s, showing great promise for the second half of term!

C1 Squad: Rafferty B, Dexter B, Jacques C, Amrit O, Gethin W, Oliver H, Quinn W-S, James S

U8B2s (Won 2-1)

It was now time for the B2s to take centre stage with fresh legs. They proved too strong early on for Davenies and scored within a matter of minutes of the whistle going. A great strike from inside the edge of the box by Ibrahim S put The Beacon into the lead. The boys continued to attack, with some brilliant interplay leading to Jafar M getting on the end of a great through ball and slotting in Beacon’s second. Despite a late free kick goal from Davenies, the boys emerged triumphant and were able to hold their heads high after a solid performance. Well done to all boys involved!

B2 Squad: Hugo H, Hari K, Jafar M, Charlie J, Ibrahim S, Patrick G, Thomas B

Bucks Cross-Country Championships

We were thrilled to participate in the Buckinghamshire Cross-Country Championships at Stowe School this week. Our Beacon Boys were outstanding – all our athletes who participated in the Years 5 & 6 race plus the Year 7 race qualified for the Nationals!

Buckinghamshire County Cross-Country boys who participated:

Henry O (Year 5), Kit R (Year 5), Sam W (Year 6), James M (Year 6), William L-S (Year 6), Barney G (Year 7), Finley F (Year 8), Eeshan K (Year 8) and Xander B (Year 8).

A special mention to Sam W (Year 6) for coming 5th overall in the county, Barney G (Year 7) who finished 7th overall in his race, and Kit R (Year 5) who smashed the Years 5 & 6 race, coming first out of our Year 5 crew ahead of most of the Year 6 boys from other schools.

Great work, boys!
