From the age of seven, boys enter our Prep School, which comprises Lower School (Years 3 and 4), Middle School (Years 5 and 6) and Upper School (Years 7 and 8). This is an important developmental stage for our Beacon boys, as they learn greater independence and enjoy further specialist teaching. They mature and grow throughout each of these three distinct stages.
Our popular House system is also introduced in the Prep School, with boys joining one of four Houses and enjoying a wide variety of cross-age group activities and competitions. This system provides a focus for boys’ energies on the sports field, in the classroom and in other areas of School life. Regular House and sectional assemblies take place, enabling success to be celebrated and team spirit fostered.
As the boys progress through our Prep School, they also enjoy taking part in a wide range of competitive sports fixtures, experience an exciting variety of cross-curricular residential trips and take on further responsibilities within the School.
When our boys move on to the next stage of their educational journey, they are fully prepared for the challenges and opportunities that lie ahead.
