A striking visual display of draped poppies handmade by our staff and pupils at The Beacon, was sited in the heart of Old Amersham over the historical Market Hall.
The unique installation was initiated and organised by Miss Michelle Jackson, Head of Art at The Beacon, as a symbol to commemorate Remembrance Day in honour of the Armed Forces and their families.
The display, featuring over 3,200 hand crafted poppies, has already attracted the attention of locals who have stopped to show their admiration for the poppies. It will be up until Wednesday 13th November for anyone to view in person.
Many thanks to Amersham Town Council for collaborating with us to unleash the creative vision linked with a historic local landmark to mark Remembrance Day 2024. A charity page has been set up for donations towards the Royal British Legion ‘Poppy Appeal.’ Any donations would be greatly appreciated – click on the button below.
Lest we forget.
