Our Year 7 boys were thrilled to embark on a fun country trip last week to the beautiful surroundings of Boughton Estate in Northamptonshire. The boys took part in a variety of different challenges during the 2-day trip, which helped to improve their outdoorsy skillset, strengthen their wilderness knowledge and create memories with peers.
They began by collecting firewood of all sizes, learnt how to create a fire and then to cook their well deserved burger lunch over it! Next on the agenda was to make paracord bracelets and tent pegs using basic knife skills. The skills then trickled into an observation of a very large salmon being filleted and cooked in the wild using hazel wood. It was ponassed over an open fire for 90 minutes and the flavours ultimately did not disappoint. The boys were left feeling very content.
The trip was rounded off with an evening game of capture the lantern, where the boys tried to evade capture by the staff and reach the light. A great highlight to end such a fun-filled few days.
