Our Year 6 boys excitedly travelled down to the lovely seaside town of Newquay this week for their Residential Trip.
Their trip started bright and early on Monday morning and the boys were very much looking forward to their first activity on route, which was the aqua park! Everyone had a great time navigating the inflatable assault course and definitely enjoyed pushing the staff members off the giant inflatable! In the evening, the boys enjoyed some time at the local swimming pool, flying down water slides – particularly the super-fast red one.
On Tuesday, the boys spent the day at Swanpool; a small coastal saline lagoon in Cornwall. They took part in various activities including coasteering, paddle boarding and kayaking. Everyone had an amazing time in the sunshine. During the evening, they spent time watching the football while others played team games. An exhausting but fun day was had by all.
On Wednesday, the boys spent the day at Camel Creek Adventure Park. They had a fantastic time on the rides, with the highlight being ‘Thunder Falls’ where they all got thoroughly soaked. To finish off the day, Year 6 walked to the beach to play games and spend some quality time with their friends.
On Thursday, it was time for a visit to Porthtowen to enjoy some surfing and body boarding. The waves were big, but everyone had a great time and got stuck in! The boys enjoyed more beach time in the evening followed by room inspections… which were very impressive.
On their final day, our Year 6 boys enjoyed a delicious breakfast before getting ready to head back to The Beacon.
What a fantastic experience and great weather to go with it, well done to all our boys for being so well behaved and facing every activity with enthusiasm and a big smile. A huge thanks to all our staff members for taking good care of the boys on their residential trip.
