During the first week of the Easter Holidays, a group of 50 Beacon boys in Years 5-8 embarked upon an exciting week-long Ski Trip to Les Menuires, in the famous Three Valleys in France. Despite facing challenging conditions with poor visibility during the initial days, the boys’ skills on the slopes were truly tested, perfectly preparing them to carve up snow for the rest of the week with pure sunshine and pristine pistes. As the sun emerged, the boys eagerly embraced the opportunity and made the most of every moment.
They were treated to plenty of evening activities, engaging in basketball matches against the teachers (who were sadly not undefeated) to table tennis and badminton. A highlight from the week was a thrilling ride on the mountain roller coaster, where the boys had to control their speed – some of them felt the need to enjoy the adrenalin of speed just like on the slopes!
Our Ski Trip boys also enjoyed some leisure time, where they explored the charming village and indulged in shopping excursions to select gifts for their families, as well as some tasty treats for themselves!
As the week drew to a close, the group gathered for a special quiz hosted by Mr. Horn, in addition to Trip Awards where there were categories such as Best Tourists, Best Newcomer, The Gentlemen, High Flyer, and Best Nickname which celebrated the unique talents and camaraderie throughout the week.
With eight full days of skiing and adventure behind them, the boys bid farewell to Les Menuires with many happy memories. Until next year!
