This week our Beacon Boys have ventured up to the exciting city of Edinburgh to perform their outstanding show of Guys and Dolls Jr at the Edinburgh Festival Fringe!
Last week was a busy one, with rehearsals back in full swing and props and costumes being prepared ready for transport to Scotland. To top off the excitement, our Performing Arts team also had an interview with the Breakfast Show host, David Weston, at a local broadcast radio station, Chiltern Voice 107.4FM. Mrs Oosthuizen (Head of Drama, Guys and Dolls Director) Miss Livermore (Drama Teacher, Guys and Dolls Director), Will A (Year 8 Guys and Dolls Performer) and Theo T (Year 7 Guys and Dolls Performer) were thrilled to talk about the upcoming show, telling the audience about the plot of the play as well as giving some insight into the characters they are performing. Give it a listen here:
After a busy few days, the cast, crew and parents all travelled up to Scotland. The Beacon Boys eagerly dressed into their costumes and were ready to say hello to Edinburgh! Flyers at the ready, they informed passing people on The Mile about their amazing show and encouraged them to pay a visit to St Augustine’s to watch it live. They even performed a few snippets of the show, getting into character and giving the public a taster of the quality of our Guys and Dolls Jr performance.
Having already performed a few shows, their confidence is growing and the boys are all having a fantastic time!
