27 September 2021
We were delighted to welcome prospective families once again, for face to face, socially-distanced, tours of The Beacon at our Autumn Open Morning on Saturday 25 September. Thankfully the rain held off for our event which was well attended, with staggered appointments hosted outdoors in the Quad. It was lovely to meet everyone and have the opportunity to showcase what the Beacon has to offer.
The morning consisted of school tours that were lead by our Year 8 boys, and a talk from our future Headmaster; Nick Baker, who is excited to take over the reins in July 2022. There were various activities along the tour to give a flavour of our amazing lessons and life skills taught to boys at The Beacon. Parents had the chance to see some of our current boys in action and the opportunity to meet and chat to our Heads of Departments and subject Teachers. These included:
We also had 2 Messy Play sessions outside in our Oakway building play area, where our new Little Beacons Nursery has opened. Pre-registered boys were invited to enjoy various games and activities, a chance to explore the facilities available in Nursery and Reception, the chance to meet new friends and familiarise themselves to the new environment, whilst parents could meet and chat to our Early Years Teaching Team.
It was a great day, we are extremely thankful to everyone who played a part in making the morning as successful as it was.
