Rap Poet Inspires Beacon Boys

Ahead of World Book Day on Thursday, we were so excited to welcome Hip Hop artist, poet and author Karl Nova in to speak to our older Beacon boys. It really was a visit we’ll all remember as Karl kept everyone entranced in assembly with performances of his work, and he even got the boys and staff up and rapping together!

Later, in smaller groups, the boys were able to work more closely with Karl in poetry workshops and some incredible work was produced.

Karl was enthusiastic, inspiring and overwhelmingly generous in talking to the boys and giving them encouragement. We are confident that we’ll have a few more poets among our boys since his visit!
